REST
Funke! Funke!! Funke!!!, the sound pierced through the quiet Monday morning, that must be Funke's sister, what is wrong with Funke I thought to myself. I continued with what I was doing and heard again, Funke's sister crying for help, I rushed to their apartment and found Funke lying on the floor looking dead.
I rushed out, got in my car and with the help of the other neighbors drove her to the hospital which was not too far from the house. At the hospital the Doctor attended to her, examined her and ran several tests but found nothing wrong with her.
After she was fully recovered the Doctor told her that all she needed was rest, he reassured her that there was nothing wrong with her, 'I don talk to Funke tire but she no go hear. Everyday work, read, phone, Facebook', her sister added.
Just like Funke you need some time to REST, Yes you!
According to Oxford English Dictionary, Rest is a period of relaxing, sleeping or doing nothing after a period of activity, not resting will cost you more than you can ever bargain for, it is a slow killer.
You need to rest so that you can be:
R- Recovered, Refreshed and Recuperated naturally.
E- Emotionally, Mentally and socially fit.
S- Stimulated for creativity and increased productivity.
T- Tough against illnesses.
You can do the following:
1. Have enough sleep
2. Take social media breaks when necessary
3. Take yourself for a special treat once in a while, it helps you to unwind and declutter your mind.
4. Read books, listen to music, go see a movie, spend time talking and laughing out loud with friends and family members.
“Wisdom is knowing when to have rest, when to have activity, and how much of each to have.” — Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
